Property boundaries may need to be established by registered in cases where a fence is being built on or near a boundary, there is a dispute between neighbours over boundaries, an owner is subdividing land or a lending institution requests a survey. If the base plan of a property is old or unreliable a Plan of Redefinition which is lodged with Land Registry Services may be recommended. This will then provide certainty of the dimensions and area available when further subdividing or developing the property.
